One of America’s best-known pay television channels, Disney XD primarily targets children aged 6 to 11. The programs it broadcasts vary from former original series and programs developed by Disney Channel to original short series. The commercial model includes advertiser-supported service, promotions for shows, and the usual TV commercials.
The channel came to life in early 2009, and the first show to be aired was one of the Phineas and Ferb episodes. Later that evening, Disney XD premiered its first original series, Aaron Stone. By 2013, the channel reached its peak number of customers: 82 million. However, this number had shrunk to 44 million by 2023, and this branch is currently deprecated by Disney.

The first Disney XD logo was dominated by the large letters “XD”. Although, technically, the emblem is typographical, it looks more like a picture. While Disney has never provided an official explanation of what it means, the most obvious interpretation is that it represents a laughing face. The design was developed by the creative branding agency Loyalkaspar, headquartered in New York.
The emblem has become much simpler due to the elimination of black shadows. While it has also lost some volume due to this, the updated emblem is more minimalistic and easier to reproduce. The company still occasionally uses logo versions with an outline, but the shades have never returned.
The neon green of the Disney XD logo might come across as immature, which is precisely the effect the company aimed at, given the channel’s audience. The typeface looks similar to Exablock.
